Sneak Peek Mrs & Mrs W - Soon to be a family of 4!

Well, the time finally came - my last session before hanging up the camera until I give birth and what a better way to end it with a maternity session for such a special couple!! You know it's been an awesome session when the clients haven't even made it out of your street and you are inside uploading their images!
Mrs W is carrying twins and looks georgous, although she did often make me wonder if I was holding my camera wonky, if she was standing wonky, or if the babies were just laying in a wonky position.
This couple were wonderful, up for anything and everything - so much fun to work with!! Mr W wins my 'best husband to photograph ever' award. Most husbands have that awkward, uncomfortable look when they rock up to their session...longing to be elsewhere, but Mr W was not only cooperative during his session, he was also a wonderful assistant. PLUS he can multi-task!! Do you think he resembles Blair from Neighbours as well?
OK all jokes aside, there is something really special about this couple. The eminate so much love for each other and are going to make the best parents to these special little miracles.

Here are a few teasers from today's session. There are so many more to come - stay tuned!

Newborn Cuddles - Miss E and Miss G {Melbourne Newborn Photographer}

*sigh* Cuddling these two today has made me ever so emotional and ready to have this baby wriggling around inside my own rather large tummy!
I popped over to my neighbour's home this morning, just to check in and make sure they were surviving the early days or parenthood ok. You know how it is in those first few weeks, time just slips by in a haze of nappies, feeds, cuddles, nappies, feeds and cuddles. Decision making is also very hard when you are in that place of sleep deprivation therefore I felt it was just time to go grab my camera and take some snaps of these two precious little girls before they turn 21.
Now, given my past experiences with newborns who don't want to sleep - there was NO WAY I was unwrapping these two little ones today! So here are a few quick snaps of the most adorable and much loved little Princesses!

Definately going to be the cheeky one!

Sneak Peek - Caroline {Melbourne Maternity Photographer)

You know the session is going to be *fun* when;
a) The photographer is 7 weeks further along in their pregnancy than the maternity client and is moving rather slowly.
b) Melbourne weather decides it's going to turn cold and miserable.
c) You realise once again you may need that step ladder!

For those of you who follow my blog, you may remember a beautiful maternity session I had with the lovely Megan http://http//chrissytorneyphotography.blogspot.com/2009/02/sneak-peek-megan-melbourne-maternity.html
Today I had the pleasure of photographing her sister Caroline who has this perfect teeny, tiny bump. Unfortunately timing of my own impending delivery meant I was unable to photograph Caroline when she was further along in her pregnancy but that doesn't mean she isn't glowing and georgous at only 29 weeks. Georgous blue eyes, curly hair and being TALL all run in the family!
Her session was originally booked for the Botanical Gardens, but it started to rain once I got there to set up, therefore we headed to our back up location of Caroline's Grandparent's home. As someone who lives in dry, dusty Werribee I was ever so envious of her Grandparent's lush green garden.
We were lucky enough to also have a visit from Megan and her georgous little bundle Emelia Rose. Megan and I made note of the extreme conditions between her 47+ degree day and Caroline's 9 degree day.
Caroline explained to me that her Grandparents were the original owners of their home and that the family had seen many changes in the area since it was built. The street is now welcoming home it's 4th generation of family members.
So after much huffing and puffing on my behalf here is a sneak peek from today's session.
Enjoy!
p.s. Look at this garden!!

Caroline - it was a pleasure meeting you today and thanks for the laughs. I will be in touch! Thank your Grandparents again for me and tell them anytime they want to come green up my yard, they are more than welcome!

And so Maternity Leave officially begins...

So here I am, at the start of my official Maternity Leave from teaching and with only 2 sessions left to shoot I have a lot of time on my hands to go back through old work and find overlooked images like the one below.
This photo was taken of my little nieceypoo almost 12 months ago - she has the most piercing green eyes and just didn't want her photo taken...LOL
I think it's georgous!

Master H - {Melbourne Newborn Photographer}

WOW...I am so very lucky. I have many wonderful people in my life who support what I do and who are more than happy to lend me their children to photograph when I need them to.
Elissa first lent me her children back when I was building my portfolio. I am amazed that time has flown by so quickly - it's hard to believe that I took these first images below of Will and Grace almost 12 months ago now.

Today I had the pleasure of photographing the newest arrival to their family, Master Harry.

Thanks you Elissa for having me in your home today, especially after such a sleepless night. I look forward to watching your latest miracle grow.

Creating My Own Special Memories

I have never been one for girly-girl stuff - I rarely put makeup on, I rarely wear dresses or skirts and up until a few years ago I didn't even know what foils were. I grew up riding BMX bikes and playing in the dirt with my younger brothers. I avoided all the girly-girl hoohaa when I got married by eloping to beautiful Broome in WA - I wore a cheesecloth skirt and singlet tops and I had a go at tizzing myself up by attempting to do my own hair and makeup.
Having a daughter has really changed me. The girly-girl stuff has become somewhat important. I am beginning to enjoy this *stuff* with my little girl. She stands beside me in the bathroom applying her own 'makeups' whenever I do make the effort to spruce up a little. I do however think that Miss P has some of my tomboy personality, especially when she requests to wear her Thomas the Tank Engine PJ's to bed, or goes off to daycare with her Spiderman singlet on over the top of her pink shirt.
So, where is all this verbal diahorrea leading to? Well. At 37 and pregnant with my second child, I decided that I would embrace my feminine side, tizz myself up a bit and capture this special time in my life. I thought it was about time I did something girly for myself. I wanted to record somehow not only my final pregnancy but also the special bond I have with my georgous daughter. I decided to follow my own advice to other women and book my own photo shoot. There was only one person I considered for the job and that was the talented and georgous Kristen Cook.
Kristen's work speaks for itself - I admire and respect the talent and passion this lady has for what it is she does.
She simply 'exuberates fantastacism'!!
SO head on over the Kristen's blog: http://kristencook.com.au/blog/?p=1273 and check out the magic this lady has created for me!
