...and 1 more. {Melbourne Teen & Child Photographer}

Because I can!

Happy Australia Day!

Where I live, it's pretty dry and dusty. To shoot in lush green gardens usually means travelling elsewhere. Tonight I took my little Supermodel friends up to the back of our estate to watch the sun set. You can see how dry it is...but even brown and dusty can look beautiful with the right models.
Happy Australia Day!

The eyes in colour! {Melbourne Child Photographer}

As requested - here are Paige's eyes in colour. I love bathroom light - it is devine. Pity they aren't the most photogenic of locations to shoot!

The trouble with my Paigey Girl - {Melbourne Child Photographer}

The trouble with my Paigey Girl is that whenever I take a photo of her eyes, they look fake. I always get asked 'What did you do to her eyes?". The answer is always "Nothing"...her eyes are like crystal balls that reflect everything which sometimes includes too much light. Strangers always stop us and comment on them. *Sigh* - I wish she had gotten them from me....but alas - I have boring old brown eyes.

And so we begin again... {Melbourne Baby Photographer}

When Heath and I met, we weren't having children - we agreed on this right in the beginning of our relationship. Once married sentences used to start with 'If we have kids..." and somehow this eventually became "When we have kids...".
We decided we would try for ONE child and one child only.
We were quickly blessed with our beautiful daughter Paigey Girl.
It was when I was pulling apart and packing Paige's cot away that I felt this overwhelming sense of my family not being complete. The decision as to whether or not to have a 2nd child was one which I agonised over from the day Paigey was born. Will she have single child syndrome, will she be lonely? All the usual anxieties went through my head.
The cot is very significant in the sense that - if it was still standing empty in a spare room somewhere, I may not be expecting this wonderful joy inside me.
So here we are again, with a cot and bassinette in an empty room, waiting to begin it's transformation into a nursery. Over the next few months I will be documenting both it's transformation and mine.

{Sneak Peek} - Canberra Shoot {Melbourne Child Photographer}

On Saturday the 10th January I flew to Canberra for a day trip to shoot some of my favourite kiddies and to also lunch with their Mummies. The weather was perfect and all the kiddos were fed, happy and ready for their close ups. I would be lying if I said I wasn't exhausted being 14 weeks pregnant - but with such georgous models, who's complaining!
Thanks for a lovely day!

Thank you Lucy, Samual, Tahlia, Oskar, Antonia, Rory, Indie and Milly for your smiles and patience...thank you to your Mums too for such a wonderful day out!

My Paigey Girl - {Melbourne Child Photographer}

I finally got around to looking through some of my own albums of Paige and this image was one which I had worked on many times but never got around the sharing.
I love how calm and placid she is, it's a rarity to get her to be still when I am doing a session with her. What's more special about this photo is the fact that I was able to get eye contact from her!!
May your New Year be filled with many special moments too.
