SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!

Hi everyone!

As my business is moving into its next phase of development there will be significant changes to the current pricing structure.

Therefore, as of the 13th September 2008 I will no longer be offering 'Portfolio Sessions' and will begin charging full session fees and print prices.

Here are some of the changes that will come into effect as of the 13th September:
  • $120 session fee (covers immediate family members)
  • Minimum print order of $200
  • The ability design your own personal packages.
  • A wider range of fine art products such as storyboards, mounted prints and albums.
  • The ability to earn print credits through the 'Customer Referral Program'.

I still aim to make custom portraiture affordable to all families as well as survive in a very competitive market and I hope that we continue to form a lasting relationship with each other.

I hope you will be able to see that what you are purchasing from me when you invite me to capture you and your family are individual and unique pieces of art. I also hope that you can see the difference individual and personal attention makes as oposed to the retail chains.

I aim to be upfront with my pricing so that you do not get any nasty suprises when you come to order.

Please email me at
chrissytorney@hotmail.com for an updated price list.

Regards,

Chrissy

Please Note: This price change does not effect any sessions already booked.

More of Georgie... {Melbourne Maternity Photographer}

I am totally LOVING this image right now. It probably breaks a whole heap of rules, but I love it because it represents my 'style' in a way. It's also the same trees as the very first ones I shot of Paige...so perhaps that's why I love it so :)

And something a little different...

Love thy Neighbour... {Melbourne Child Photographer}

Let me introduce you to three of the loveliest kids I know; Courtney, Emilie and Brodie. They belong to a special friend of mine, who just happens to be my neighbour. This afternoon I spotted them playing out in the street, so I grabbed my camera and headed down to their end of the court. Courtney is the eldest and has now reached the 'moody teenage' years, therefore no smiles, just long stares down the barrel of the lens. Emilie is the middle child and loves to lend me her beautiful face for portraiture. Brodie is the youngest and loves the camera, so much that when he saw me coming, he raced inside to change and to make himself georgous...it's a shame that he forgot to wash his face though. Typical boy!! I was going to edit it out, but then it wouldn't be a true capture of his personality.

So here they are, Supermodels in the making and my special friends.

Dancing Skirt

This is my daughter Paige who will be 2 in September. She is growing so fast and some days I do not recognise her as being my 'baby'.

This morning she asked to put the 'dancing skirt' on so i quickly grabbed the camera to take some quick snapshots for the family album.

Definately not 'portraiture' as I shot with the dreaded 'green square', but priceless all the same.

They really do grow up so quickly!

Thanks Anna for letting me capture such a beautiful, private moment.
Well, as private as breastfeeding in front of someone with a camera can be...LOL

A new and exciting location!!

I can't believe I have lived here for over 6 years and didn't know this spot was on my doorstep. Thanks to a friend and some great directions Paige and I headed off to check out this special place. The colours were so vibrant and there were lots of rustic old boats and machinery laying around everywhere. I can't wait to take clients here! Lucky my trusty model Paige was willing to get out of the car for a quick sample photo, even if it was with her trusty 'cool dudes' (sunglasses). Poor thing, even with a temperature of 38 degrees she was still willing to help out. Thanks Shell for the location tip!

Dress ups! {Melbourne Child Photographer}

It's been a sad week for my In Laws with them having to put their beloved black labrador Bonnie to sleep. I took Paigey Girl around for a play to help cheer them up some.

RIP Bonnie xo

A lovely day out... {Melbourne Child Photographer}

Today Paigey and I caught up with some friends. I tried as hard as I could to remove my 'photographer's goggles' for just one afternoon and sit back and relax, but with such a georgous bright and airy room with loads of window light, I couldn't resist snapping a few.
Before we left I had to try and snap just one decent shot of my own daughter, Miss Paigey Girl.

My neiceypoo... {Melbourne Child Photographer}

On a recent trip to Sydney to see my family I captured this photo of my cheeky neice Alisha.

It was a beautiful, sunny 20 degrees and she was leaning on a brick wall in the shade.

All of a sudden she got very shy!

The beautiful Bec... {Melbourne Maternity Photographer}

Bec looks stunning at 34 weeks pregnant!

Navi had to be in on the modelling action!

How fast they grow...

Here is the georgous Oscar - Thanks Ans for lending me your beautiful son to photograph today. His eyes are simply stunning. He is loving those fingers, maybe there is a tooth on the horizon!

More to come...

Nick, Sophie and Alex {Melbourne Teen, Family and Child Photographer}

A lovely day in Geelong.

Today I had the pleasure of photographing some older children! It was a fun day, with very cooperative people and I had a ball. I really do need to invest in a zoom lens for outdoor shoots as my trusty legs are very tired.

I am finally blogging...

I decided to begin a blog as a more personalised way to share my photography with you all. I am hoping that by sharing both my photos and thoughts, my 'vision' and perception about what I think makes a beautiful photo will be more understood.
As a teacher with over 14 years experience, I feel I have an advantage when it comes to photographing young children. I find it's easy for me to gauge a child's true personality within a few minutes of hanging out, and I hope this advantage is evident in my captures.
I have always enjoyed creating, and feel that this is a wonderful outlet for me.
I have been extremely honoured to have been able to photograph such lovely children during this first stage of my journey and I wouldn't haven't gotten this far without this support.
So I personally would like to thank from the bottom of my heart;
Melanie, John, Jesse, Alex, Hugo, Ange, Pete, Bec, Navi, Stacey, Abbey, Carson, Deb, Madi, Nat, Tyler, Dave, Jaime, Benjamin, Oscar, Anna, Poppy, Kate, Skye, Toby, Kirrily, Emilie, The Modica Family, The Appleby Family, The Ardizzon Family and The Hutchison Family.

Thanks to Lee Parsons for your continued advise and wisdom and to all my 'SIC' buddies who always make me feel like I am creating something amazing.

Lastly, special thanks to my wonderful, patient husband Heath and of course the inspiration behind my work, my darling daughter Paige.

I have decided to begin this blog at this very stage of my journey, so if you would like to view any of my work before this time, please visit my Flickr site:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/27484224@N03/

I hope you enjoy looking at my work, as much as I enjoy capturing these moments in time.
