What's on my walls? - {Melbourne Child Photographer}

Two things happened today with Paigey Girl.
1. She was dressed before 9am without the need for chocolate bribes.
2. She actually let me brush her hair and put it up without the need for chocolate bribes.

I find it so hard to choose images of Paige to go on our walls here at home, I am ashamed to admit there are none other than some baby photos...so today I put an order in to have this image printed as a 20 x 20" mounted print...just because I felt that I needed to take off the perfectionist photographer goggles for a while and just wear my Mummy ones and see this image for what it is...even with it's technical imperfections.

It's simply a beautiful capture of my own child which shows her cheekiness, her smile and her spirit.

Love you Paigey Girl!!

My Paigey Girl - {Melbourne Child Photographer}

I finally got around to looking through some of my own albums of Paige and this image was one which I had worked on many times but never got around the sharing.
I love how calm and placid she is, it's a rarity to get her to be still when I am doing a session with her. What's more special about this photo is the fact that I was able to get eye contact from her!!
May your New Year be filled with many special moments too.

Sneak Peek - Max {Melbourne Child Photographer}

I had the pleasure of shooting 2 year old Max today. I work with his Mum and he also goes to daycare with my daughter Paige.
We had so much fun together, chasing bugs and looking for pirates treasure! Max enjoys a chat and we had a great time driving around Williamstown looking for some older buildings.
Brooke and Jeremy - It was a pleasure taking your portraits today. I see so much of your Dad in Max - cheeky bugger! He has such a wonderful sense of humour!

{Sneak Peek Part I} - Trent {Melbourne Child Photographer}

If you asked my husband what it is I complain about the most since moving from Sydney to Melbourne, he would say 'The Damn Werribee Winds" - aaaaand he would be right! Today I had the pleasure of meeting little Trent - who was not happy having his photo taken in the strong winds down at the beach. It wasn't a very nice day today so we are going to reshoot - however I did manage to catch some cute moments of Trent when he wasn't telling me how much he hated those damn Werribee Winds too!!

Sneak Peek - Cara, Ash, Cameron, Ally and Kade {Melbourne Family, Teen and Baby Photographer}

It was really interesting to watch the transformation from self conscious to totally relaxed with these family members. They were lots of fun to shoot and I think I may have driven a little too fast to get home to start working on these photos.

I was so excited to get to use my new 85mm lens for the first time but within the first few minutes I had switched back to my 35mm as I felt SO far away from them. I also didn't want to end up in the ocean as the tide was high at the time.

Cara and Family, thanks again for such a fun shoot today, I hope you like what I have worked on so far!!

More to come :)

My beautiful Paigey Girl... {Melbourne Child Photographer}

Every day I wake up to the most delightful sound. My daughter lies in her bed chattering away to all of her friends. I sometimes wonder what exciting adventure they had all been on in her dreams that night. Sometimes I am jealous that I was not the first person she spoke to or saw when she opened her eyes to start the day and other days I am thankful for the lie in.
Paigey girl forever has a runny nose and refuses to tie her hair up, so needless to say I am always running after her wiping her nose or brushing her hair out of her eyes. Sometimes I am not quick enough to wipe the nose therefore her hair then sticks to her face is a very 'uncute' manner. I haven't edited her face in these photos, as if I start now, I will be forever doing it...LOL
She is a bit of a tomboy in the sense that she would be more excited about playing with her trucks outside in the dirt than playing with a doll.
She loves to run and is ever so independent. She knows what she wants when she wants it and like most toddlers wants it YESTERDAY.
Paigey makes my heart sing and shout 'WOOOHOOO' every day. She is such a delightful human being that I truley DO often wonder how on earth I grew such a warm and georgous creature.
Anyhow...as we lead up to Paigey's 2nd birthday, here are some shots from our Mummy/Daughter day down at our local zoo.
